The budget on this car isn’t “unlimited” it’s been built over a number of years, what you don’t see is the owner eating noodles for lunch and dinner, wrenching in his shop on other peoples cars to afford to do this. This is what happens when you live and breath Subaru and time attack.

@@LZY25T I think you are missing the point. Its not taking a stab at the team, or shop but the class. But saying that there is at least 200k + in that car. 99% of it would be from marketing expense from the business not to mention labour hours alone. If he is eating noodles then why doesn't he drive it? At least Jimmy does. All the top 10 cars are from shops or shop built that are generally "labour free", and normally with a production race car driver that basically sink laps in at SMSP every weekend.

@@scottlarnach7205 so you want an international event with only home built cars driven by the owner regardless of how slow they are? I think you are missing the point of the whole event to be honest. No disrespect but there are plenty of grassroots events to compete in and while we welcome home built cars we also want to see the absolute best in each category. If you go to Japan you will see the lower categories of time attack are also all dominated by shop built cars and I think you will find its the same elsewhere in the world too. I think you will find this is also what our fans want to see. The fastest of the fast!

Better change the definition to "Fastest single lap, that the buget cap will allow" Even shop money doesn't negate the fact there are tire and modification restrictions in clubsprint. Day-1 competitors get to setup garage next to the best and learn from them, and often get their support when they run into trouble. Don't be a hater bro

@@WorldTimeAttackChallenge ​ Actually no, im not missing the point of the whole event, just that single class and the rules. I get it, it's a "show" blah blah more for the tickets and clicks, fans want to see etc. As a ex competitor and fan I would rather see Pro and Open class - Clubsprint is what used to be relatable to grassroots these days it's not. You are missing my point and ignoring that fact that you need a min 200k + just to build a top 10 car for clubsprint that most people can't afford, and if you're a shop basically labour free and wholesale prices on parts. I would bet that the grassroot guys in Japan would also feel the same about the class, most of them cannot afford "Bosch Motorsports ABS system" or "DNA Autosport Suspenion", let alone tyres, where most of these shops have stacks of them. Clubsprint class is now basically a mini or entry class to open class now as the times are faster than half of the open class. It's actually a joke to see 20 seconds gap between the no 1 guy and no 40 guy, it really needs to be split (Class) or better yet remove slower than 1:40 as you said only want "The fastest of the fast". As a fan I certain don't want to see a mildy modded Yaris or I30N, but you are kind of contradicting yourself by allowing slower cars like that to enter. All im saying is that this class should now be split in class - like Clubsprint "open" or even Clubsprint "pro" for pro drivers and cars that have over 200k sunk into them and a grassroots style (like prodsprint bos has done). Do the fans want to see that? Probably not. Am I Sh*tt*ng on the event? Absolutely not, just the class to what it's become.
